The highlight of our evening was riding in the fire truck.
His face says it all!!
One morning while I was getting ready, Brylie came to me and asked me to draw her a Sleeping Beauty. I told her I wasn't sure I could draw Sleeping Beauty (her dad is more of the artist than I am). She then came back a few minutes later and asked me if I could cut out Sleeping Beauty because she says I am good with scissors. I told her I didn't know how to do that and kind of shooed her out so I could finish getting ready. When I was done getting ready I came out of the bathroom and found her with scissors and paper. She proceeded to cut out Sleeping Beauty with pieces of paper (like a pattern) and glue the pieces together. Then she colored it. She said, "See Mom, it's not so hard to cut out Sleeping Beauty!" I was so proud of her picture that I had to take a picture.
Cody is our money child. He likes to hold money, count money and put money in his piggy bank. He usually pats his dad's and grandpa's pockets to listen for the sound of change, and they usually give in and give him money from their pockets. I've never seen a child like him before. We were having family home evening one day and Cody of course had a penny in his hand. During the lesson there was a loud sound and the lamp went out. When we figured out what happened, we realized that Cody had taken his penny and stuck it in the floor socket where the lamp was plugged in. His hand was black and he was scared to death, but he was ok. We had to thank Heavenly Father that night for the protection of our little boy. Things could have been a lot worse. Needless to say, Cody is not allowed to walk around with money anymore. It goes directly into his piggy bank.
Here is the sacrificial penny.

Cody's face on the firetruck is so dang cute! Such a little "boy" face! I love it! That's so scarry about the penny, I can't believe it! Glad he's ok.
ah julie. spencer is and always has been our little (well, tall now) money man. we have a quarter that looks just like that penny, from him doing the same thing! (he has saved it with all of his other coins) he is now an avid coin collector. he has almost every penny from 1904 on. and lots of coins, some dating back into the 1800's. it is pretty awesome. reading about cody's love of money was great! thanks for sharing such cute pic's and posts of your fabulous family!!! :)
